Hello XoomFile Member.
We're always trying to improve our service by making it easier and simpler to use. We've updated the software several times recently on both the Windows and Mac edition to fix bugs reported by users.
We've also been answering a lot of questions about time limits etc. We thought it would be beneficial to do a quick FAQ.
- Why Software? The software chunks, compresses and sends the file up via multiple streams. This makes it really fast and you can't do that in a browser. The software can also protect the file BEFORE it leaves your computer (privacy). (more..)
- Encryption? If you choose to add a password to a file, the file is encrypted using 256Bit AES encryption to obfuscate (scramble) the file before it's sent. The recipient has to know the password to de-crypt it (a wrong password destroys the file). Banking encryption is 128Bit RSA, our encryption is equivalent to 2048 Bit RSA. (more..)
- Reporting? If you visithttp://www.xoomfile.com/reports you can log in and view every file you've sent or received. There is a lot of detail here for you and as a added benefit it can download as an Excel(R) spreadsheet. (more..)
- Mac OSX version? If you use a Mac, Snow Leopard (10.6) is a must to use XoomFile Mac. The software is forward compatible to Lion (10.7) which is out now but we cannot provide the same features/functions backwards to older OS versions (ie. 10.5). (more..)

XoomFile is going to be launching a user survey to get feedback from users on all aspects of the software: Installation, registration, operation and pricing even look and feel. Folks who complete the survey will have a chance to win hardware (graphics cards), iTunes gift cards, XoomFile Gift Cards and more.
